About the
Fund
The Aztec Equity Fund (AEF) is an
investment fund that consists of common stock and cash. The AEF
was created in August, 1992, at San Diego State University with
the intent to implement academic financial theories and to broaden
interest in finance in a practical setting. Each year, six or more
graduate students under the supervision of an academic advisor are
selected to act as managers of the AEF. These managers are responsible
for the performance of the Fund and must continue to monitor the
broad economy and its influences on their portfolio. Continuous
analysis of new and existing investments provides a challenging
situation for the managers because of the real financial commitments
involved. The AEF is proud of its past superior performance and
professional commitment by those who have managed its assets.
